Have You Considered Custom Made Brochure Stands?

Posted by on Sunday, 30 May, 2010

There are many different styles and types of brochure stands, and choosing which one is best to use for certain locations at trade shows depends mainly on where the stand will be located. Typically, stands are sometimes placed in front of the booth, inside the booth or on display tables and shelves. When planning the placement of your brochure display stands, there are many points to take into consideration.

Ease of Transportation: If you have to travel any distance to get to your trade fair, or if you are paying to have your stands and other items transported to your booth, you will need to keep in mind portability and weight. Naturally, large acrylic brochure stands weigh a lot more than similar sized cardboard brochure stands. Large stands in general can be very bulky items to try to package and transport. It is a good idea, before purchasing your stands, to ensure that they can be assembled and disassembled, as it is much easier to transport them in pieces rather than as one large stand. It is important that they are easy to assemble, however, as you usually do not have a lot of time to put them together. It is also best if they fit together, rather than rely on screws or other small pieces for their assembly.

Location of Stand: You also need to plan carefully regarding where you will be placing your stands. Cardboard stands are great as they are lightweight, but you may not want to place it on the floor in front of your booth for example, as they are also fairly easy to knock over especially if the trade fair is very busy with many people milling around.

You may be better off with an acrylic brochure stand to place outside of your booth or on either side of the entrance to your booth. These are usually a little studier and can take the occasional knock or bump without falling over and scattering your brochures everywhere. If you need a table top brochure display stand, you could use one made from either acrylic or cardboard, as both sit well on a table top, and both are able to hold a fairly good sized array of brochures.

Custom-made Brochure Stand: One thing that many companies who regularly attend trade fairs have discovered is that it is very beneficial to custom design their own brochure stands. There are many reasons for wanting to do this. If you are able to design your own stand, you can design it so that it is easy to pull apart and put together, thus ensuring that it is a portable brochure stand. It will also be much easier and potentially even cheaper to transport as well. A problem that is often faced when transporting lightweight stands disassembled is that the actual costs are often calculated on a dimensional weight basis. The smaller the packaging you transport your stand in, the less the dimensional weight costs will be. Small hidden expenses such as having items shipped at dimensional weight costs can really add to your overall setup costs, and they do add up over time.

Another advantage to designing your own stands is that you can have them made to perfectly fit the items that you will be displaying. Thus, if you have different sized brochures you can have the pockets where the brochures are going to be displayed made to fit the exact brochure. This is very helpful also if you display different sized items, other than brochures.

Custom designing your own brochures stand also enables you to add any features you would like to the display. It generally does cost more to have a custom made stand designed for you, but remember if you are able to have them designed as portable brochure stands that can be neatly packaged and transported in smaller boxes or containers, you will soon save enough on your transportation costs to cover the customization of the stands.

Not only can you custom design the acrylic stands but you can also have your cardboard stands custom designed as well. With these, you can even have your product descriptions or pictures of your products printed directly onto the stands. One thing to be careful about when designing your own cardboard stands is the flat design. In other words, it is important to come up with a design that is very easy and simple to assemble quickly, and that does not require intricate instructions on how to fold and set up. It may be the simplest for you to find a ready-made display and then use that as a prototype for your own custom cardboard display.

Whether you choose a custom-made stand, or you will be purchasing or renting a standard display, it is still important to plan carefully before your trade fair. You will want to make sure you have stands that fit your booth and that are both attractive to look at and functional as far as being able to display your brochures and other items.

Types of Display Stands

Having the right display stand, or display stands, are a must if you are running a booth at an exhibition, or if you own a shop and want to sell a certain item. The right display stand will highlight your product and make it easy to people to see exactly what options there are and have a close look at items they are considering buying.

Display stands are made from different materials. There are plastic display stands and acrylic display stands, as well as metallic display stands. What is right for you and your product may be different than what is suitable for someone else.

You should check carefully what kind of display stand or stands you would want to have. If you are running a booth at a trade fair then you should be sure to check the booth out beforehand and know exactly what the measurements are, so you know how large or small you want your display stands to be. You can get display stands that will stand on the floor or you can get smaller, shorter ones that sit on a table top. You should have a clear idea in your mind as to exactly what you want your booth to look like so that you know what kind of material you want your display stand to be made from and how big it should be.

Portable display stands have both advantages and disadvantages. They are essential for a booth at an exhibition or trade fair, as you will obviously need to be able to move the display stand, whether it be a book display stand, jewelry display stand, or card display stand. If you are a shop owner, then having a portable display stand allows you to move it as needed. If you are rearranging your shop or even moving to a new location, then a portable display stand allows you to make the décor of the shop look better as needed. The disadvantage is that often portable display stands are not all that sturdy. You will need to be careful not to overload them. Having it fall down may damage the items you are trying to sell, not to mention the fact that having it fall on a customer, or potential customer, will not be good for business. If you have a portable display stand be careful to get one that is sturdy and, especially if you are selling books, be careful as to how much weight you put on it. Pop up display stands are also good for exhibitions and booths as they allow you to set up quickly and easily and put things away quickly and easily. If you have ever run a booth at a trade fair, spending long hours talking with potential customers and making business deals, you likely know how tiring it can be; having a set up that is easy to put up and take down is just great, to say the least.

Another thing to consider of course is the price. While getting a good quality display stand does cost a fair bit of money it is an investment that will last you a long time. Display stands, in particular pop up display stands, can be easily stored and reused at other trade fairs and exhibitions. While you may likely have a limited budget with which to set up your booth, you should be careful not to go too cheap. You do not need the most expensive display that money can buy to attract customers but a booth that has obviously been done cheaply will look tacky and will discourage people from wanting to buy your product or do business with you. Your display stands, as well as the other items in your booth, such as tables, chairs, and multimedia display, banners and advertisements should all reflect well done work and a high standard of quality. One option you can consider is renting display stands – many companies and even online retailers have this as an option and it costs a fair bit less than actually buying the equipment. One thing you may want to consider, however, is that while it may cost less in the here and now to rent display stands, you may want to look ahead a bit and see if you will need to use the display stands on a regular basis. If so, it will likely work out to be more cost effective to just buy them. Card display stands as well as brochure display stands are something that you will use at pretty much any booth you run, no matter what product or service you are advertising for your company, they are usually not all that big so will fit almost any booth you set up and are a good investment.
