A glass display unit is both beautiful and artistic. Glass structures can be used to create a variety of effects. Some are used to create modern and sophisticated looks, while others can be used for symmetrical illusion. Glass is also environmentally friendly and unlike most plastics, it is easily recyclable and can be used again to create another structure.

A glass display cabinet is a great way to show off your valuables or collections. They may also serve a variety of other purposes. Fingerprints are a common occurrence on glass display equipment so be sure to have some cleaning materials nearby. Dirt also tends to show more easily on glass so you will have to clean it more often than other display surfaces. When cleaning glass displays, make sure that you do not use a cloth that can track lint and try not to use soapy water. The best cleaning solution for glass is newspapers and Windex. Rub the newspaper in a circular motion to prevent streaking marks.

A glass display counter is useful and looks good as well. When purchasing a glass counter you will need to find one made from strong glass that is resistant to cracking. This type of glass will usually go through a treatment process and have a ‘shatter resistant’ stamp on it. Purchasing scratch resistant glass may also be good to avoid scratches when placing things on your display counter. Regardless of how strong your glass is you should still be careful when placing items on it. Forceful use can cause even the strongest of glass to chip or scratch so exercise caution.

A shot glass display is an interesting collection display. The size of your cabinet will depend on how many shot glasses you have collected. It’s fairly simple to make a shot glass cabinet, what you’ll need is a saw, plywood, solid wood, a hammer, glue, pliers, measuring tape and sand paper. To begin you cut the solid wood into strips and lightly sand the edges. Next you should draw the self pattern on the plywood so you can cut it out easily, make sure that each shelf is high enough to fit the shot glass. Create the frame out of strips of solid wood and use the ply board to create the back of the shelf. You may want to add a set of glass doors for the shelf as well. Once the shelf has been made, be sure to fasten it securely to the wall and touch up any rough areas with sand paper.

A glass display dome can be a beautiful display structure to show off art pieces, collections, or memorabilia. The items are protected by a glass dome structure that is set on top of the base. Glass domes were used in the mid 19th century for holding specimen domes. The items need to make medications were stored in glass container in the apothecary’s work area. Many museums contain glass domes that house insects and other odd specimens. The dome structure has preserved other rare items as well keeping them from being damaged.
