Vinyl Mesh Banners for Indoor and Outdoor Use

Posted by on Monday, 28 June, 2010

There are two main types of vinyl banners; standard and mesh banners. Both can be used in external and internal situations. Vinyl is a great material to make banners out of as it is durable, lightweight and it is not damaged by water nor faded by direct sunlight, or other hard weather conditions. Because it is so lightweight and very cost effective to use, banners made from vinyl can have a large visual impact as they can be made large enough to be seen from far away and yet the printing is still clear enough that they can also be easily read up close. Printing on vinyl, especially these days with full color digital printing, results in very sharp images and text, which makes these types of banners perfect to use for advertising purposes. While standard vinyl banners can be used successfully in outdoor locations, vinyl mesh banners are generally better suited for this purpose.

The vinyl mesh banner is specifically made to be able to withstand windy weather as it is made with thousands of tiny holes located throughout the banner. The holes are so tiny that they do not detract from the image printed on it but they do allow wind to pass right through it. Without those tiny perforations, banners will often get caught up in the wind. Depending on the wind velocity the standard vinyl banner may bulge thus hindering readability or it could even come loose of its ties and begin flapping around in the wind to the point that no one is able to even see what is on it. This can also be quite hazardous if the banner is hung in places near to traffic as if it was to come completely unattached and fly off it could end up in the midst of traffic.

When used externally, the mesh banner is both highly effective and safe to use. It can be hung from billboards, draped on the sided of buildings or attached to stands. It often used at outdoor functions and events such as football or baseball games, outdoor fairs, and music concerts. They are particularly helpful to use to help build your business by way of advertising via outdoor promotions. Little can beat outdoor promotions when it comes to being in the public eye constantly. This is especially true if the banner is situated in a location where people pass by regularly, whether on foot or in a vehicle. With time, the message that you are trying to portray via your banner will almost subconsciously register with passersby until soon your company becomes well known. If you want to advertise outdoors with banners, using a mesh banner is the most effective means to do so. It is cheap, effective and it will hold up to all but the worst weather conditions.

If you think, you may have a need to display your banner at both indoor and outdoor locations at some point in time you would be far better off going ahead and paying a little extra for the mesh style banner, which could be used in either location. Compared to regular banners there is actually very little difference in production costs. Costs vary for both style of banners depending on things such as whether the printing is one or two sided, the size of the pole pocket and whether or not rope is to be included rather than whether it is made from mesh material or not.

There are some very unique ways you can use the mesh banners indoors as well as outdoors. A banner that is printed on two sides can very effectively be hung in a window where it can be seen from both outside the window and from indoors. Light can come into the room through the tiny holes in the banner thus illuminating the area. At the same time, people will still be able to see the outside world through the tiny perforations in the banner. Of course, visibility will not be perfect but it will be sufficient.

You can submit your orders for mesh banner printing very easily online. Most sites promoting banner printing have very easy to navigate sites and a simple ordering system whereby you simply punch in the dimensions and other details regarding the banner and upload the artwork that you want printed on the banner. Costs for shipping are usually minimal also, as they are very lightweight. You can also choose options such as whether you want double-sided printing. Banners are usually printed digitally using full color printing making it very easy to customize them and use very specific designs.

If there were ever any remote possibility that you may need to use your banner outside you would be wise to go for the mesh option. That way you will have something that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use at little, if any, extra cost.
