Types of Display Stands

Posted by on Wednesday, 17 February, 2010

Having the right display stand, or display stands, are a must if you are running a booth at an exhibition, or if you own a shop and want to sell a certain item. The right display stand will highlight your product and make it easy to people to see exactly what options there are and have a close look at items they are considering buying.

Display stands are made from different materials. There are plastic display stands and acrylic display stands, as well as metallic display stands. What is right for you and your product may be different than what is suitable for someone else.

You should check carefully what kind of display stand or stands you would want to have. If you are running a booth at a trade fair then you should be sure to check the booth out beforehand and know exactly what the measurements are, so you know how large or small you want your display stands to be. You can get display stands that will stand on the floor or you can get smaller, shorter ones that sit on a table top. You should have a clear idea in your mind as to exactly what you want your booth to look like so that you know what kind of material you want your display stand to be made from and how big it should be.

Portable display stands have both advantages and disadvantages. They are essential for a booth at an exhibition or trade fair, as you will obviously need to be able to move the display stand, whether it be a book display stand, jewelry display stand, or card display stand. If you are a shop owner, then having a portable display stand allows you to move it as needed. If you are rearranging your shop or even moving to a new location, then a portable display stand allows you to make the décor of the shop look better as needed. The disadvantage is that often portable display stands are not all that sturdy. You will need to be careful not to overload them. Having it fall down may damage the items you are trying to sell, not to mention the fact that having it fall on a customer, or potential customer, will not be good for business. If you have a portable display stand be careful to get one that is sturdy and, especially if you are selling books, be careful as to how much weight you put on it. Pop up display stands are also good for exhibitions and booths as they allow you to set up quickly and easily and put things away quickly and easily. If you have ever run a booth at a trade fair, spending long hours talking with potential customers and making business deals, you likely know how tiring it can be; having a set up that is easy to put up and take down is just great, to say the least.

Another thing to consider of course is the price. While getting a good quality display stand does cost a fair bit of money it is an investment that will last you a long time. Display stands, in particular pop up display stands, can be easily stored and reused at other trade fairs and exhibitions. While you may likely have a limited budget with which to set up your booth, you should be careful not to go too cheap. You do not need the most expensive display that money can buy to attract customers but a booth that has obviously been done cheaply will look tacky and will discourage people from wanting to buy your product or do business with you. Your display stands, as well as the other items in your booth, such as tables, chairs, and multimedia display, banners and advertisements should all reflect well done work and a high standard of quality. One option you can consider is renting display stands – many companies and even online retailers have this as an option and it costs a fair bit less than actually buying the equipment. One thing you may want to consider, however, is that while it may cost less in the here and now to rent display stands, you may want to look ahead a bit and see if you will need to use the display stands on a regular basis. If so, it will likely work out to be more cost effective to just buy them. Card display stands as well as brochure display stands are something that you will use at pretty much any booth you run, no matter what product or service you are advertising for your company, they are usually not all that big so will fit almost any booth you set up and are a good investment.

Pop Up Stand for Trade Fair Booths and Exhibitions

If you are setting up a booth at a trade fair, getting the right pop up display stands is a must. Pop up stands are advantageous in that they are easy to set up and easy to take back down again, which is very helpful to those running the booth, as they will not have to spend long hours setting up and packing up. Pop up stands are professional looking and will enhance your booth, attracting potential customers and people interested in doing business with you. Another advantage is that pop up stands can be kept year after year and reused as needed. While they do need some care and you will have to make sure to store them properly, pop up displays are great investments.

Of course, no matter what type of pop up display you buy, it will cost money and a fair bit of money too, if you want to get something that is well made and good quality. You can also rent different kinds of pop up stands as well, which is more cost effective in the short term. Renting pop up displays is also a good idea if you are not sure that you would want to reuse the same displays again; that way you can get something new next year, or next trade fair. However, if you do set up booths and exhibitions often then purchasing the needed display stands does work out to be more cost effective in the long run. Whether you rent or buy your display stands, you will want to make sure to get something high quality. Your booth is often the first impression people will get of your company and the product or service you are offering and as has been said, it is almost impossible to undo a first impression. Having something that is cheap, or tacky looking, will work against you in the long run.

The first thing to do is to check out the location of your booth. Measure the height, width, and length of the area you have to work with so you know what kind of display or displays will fit and how high and long they should be. You will want something that will attract attention to your booth and be large enough that people can see it from a distance away but at the same time, you do not want something that is too large. Conversely, you do not want something that is too small for the area that you are using.
You should consider carefully exactly what kind of pop up display stands you want – if you are selling VCD’s or DVDs then a pop up TV stand, or pop up plasma TV stand will likely be a must. You may also find these helpful for other products as it allows you to play advertisements for them. You will want to check beforehand how loud you can play such advertisements as the trade fair may have guidelines regarding this.

You can buy display stands or pop up banner stands, as well as pop up mini counters, custom made from a number of different companies and online retailers. Having it custom made offers a number of advantages, the main one being that you will get exactly what you want, how you want it – it will be the exact size and style you want, which you may not be able to find otherwise, depending on what you have in mind. Naturally, this costs more than simply ordering something that is already made. You will of course want to check out one or more companies and online retailers to see what they offer, how much it costs, and, if ordering online, whether the company pays for the shipping or you do.

Pop up displays are made from gold, silver, titanium or platinum and the display part can either be fabric or graphic. You will most likely want to choose something that coordinates well with the logo of your company and the company ‘colors.’ If you get a graphic display stand make sure that it is designed exactly how you want it, especially if you plan to use it for more than one exhibition or trade fair.

You should take care to order your pop up stands as early as possible. Most trade fairs will allow you to check out your booth well in advance; it is wise to do so. See and decide exactly what you will need and allow time for shipping, or for the company not having what you want in stock right away. Particularly if you are getting something that is custom made you will want to make sure to allow plenty of time for the company to make exactly what you have in mind.

Instant Advertising: The Pop Up Stands

Posted by on Tuesday, 16 February, 2010

Pop up stands have been around for a while now, at least since the early 1970s. Pop up display stands can be found in so many different types of venues. You can literally see them in about every establishment you enter. Have you been to a Hollywood Video or an Albertson’s? They are there in the front advertising some sort of special. They are in exhibition centers and trade show events. Pop up banner stands could be in movie theatres or at the Roseville Galleria. It does not matter, pop up banner stands do not discriminate nor do they issue any conjunctions against their employer. They do not ask for overtime nor do they require dental. They are loyal and obedient and as long as you take care of them, they will facilitate spreading your message; whatever that message may be.

Pop up stands have so many different types of purposes. They can hold signs and sign holder propaganda, picture assortments, restaurant menus, signs made of acrylic, metal, and wood. Some have specially designed brochure containers and others have little compartments for business cards.

The pop up stand is excellent for trade shows. The colorful and dynamic graphics that can be propped up on the tradeshow booth can accentuate the banners on the pop ups that you have. These are more than suitable and can just radiate at a convention and exhibition. Pop up booths can also be referred to pop up displays or exhibition booths. They are an excellent way to attract more clients or customers at a trade show. Many companies use these to spread their underlined theme around. The banner could be specific or vague, with the correct mix or message, both can appeal to people that are walking by. There is not any specific way to add hype and allure to your product and service. This pop up item is element is befitting and congruous for this because they are lightweight and could be placed right near an entrance or exit. When they are placed near the entrance, this could cause a positive alarm in the potential customer’s face. When they are placed intentionally near the exit, they serve a dual purpose. Those purposes are:

• When someone is leaving the event and see your item on display, fully exposes, that will be the final reminder of them for that day pertaining to that event. This would be a perfectly legitimate place for a pop up display stand and this is the point of marketing.

• The other point of putting an item such as this at the exit is too catch another customer. Perhaps someone walked around the facility’s grounds and did not see your booth. With this sign there, they feel guilty if they left or they would feel like if they continued to leave like they may have missed out on something. If they paid to enter, their frame of thought could be something like, “well, I paid to see what this event had to offer and if I leave now I may not have received my money’s worth and I could feel cheated. I could also have missed something that I could brag to my family and friends about, something truly special.” It could be a combination of these or just one. Either way, this person, because of this pop up item, would spend more time in the trade show which could give a reason the trade show is more successful that it could have been.

Pop up TV stands are also highly sought after since they enable a TV to be in that place when otherwise it would be quite a difficult feat and not as enticing. Not everyone wants to hang a TV on the wall, and some homeowners would frown on the idea. With this stand, the TV could be put on a dresser, mantles, or any other furniture space. This is excellent for the bedroom since you can have a cabinet drawer at the foot of the bed and a TV placed on a TV stand right there. This is ideal for bedrooms that are spacious. The wall is too far away so if you put the TV on that wall, it would be too small to see. Even if the wall became the TV, which is about 10 years out, you may miss some things because you are elevated on the bed and the bottom of the wall could be out of view if you were lying down. Your own feet would be in the way. In addition, that commercial where the couple was watching the TV on the ceiling, is that really practical? Let us hope that TV does not ever fall down on the person or persons in the bed in that scenario. That would be truly tragic but the source of late night comedy if anyone was not mortally wounded.

Pop Up Displays

If you are setting up a booth at a trade fair of some sort, or setting up a storefront display, then using pop up display stands offers a number of advantages. The main advantage to using a pop up display is that it is easy to set up and take back down again and it is easy to store until the next time you need to use it.  If you have ever had a booth at a trade fair before, then you probably already know that it takes long hours of standing there and talking with many prospective customers to make it profitable and worth the time and expense. Therefore, you will of course want a pop up display system that is easy to set up and take back down again.

Pop up displays come in many types and use either a graphic or fabric background.  You can get tabletop displays in different sizes and different lengths, or you can get pop up displays that sit on the floor.  These start at around six feet and can be all the way up to twenty feet.  They are made either from silver, titanium, or platinum; purchase one that is high quality and that ideally comes with a lifetime warranty.

The very first step you should take before purchasing a pop up display of any kind is to check out the booth beforehand.  You can often do this sometime after registering for a booth at the trade show and after you have paid for it.  See how wide, long and high the area is, see how many tables or shelves you will need to display the product.  Some people set up a television on the table of their display area to play an advertisement of what they are selling; this is almost a must if you are selling some sort of multimedia.  Likewise, some people feel they should have a computer on the table, if they are selling computer software of some sort.  You will want to take all this into account before buying your pop up display as it goes without saying that this will affect both what kind of pop up display system you will need and what size it should be.

Once you have decided the size and the type, and the color of course (you will want it to match well with the decor of the booth, the company’s color and logo, etc) then you should order your pop up display as early as possible to allow for last minute glitches.  There are shops that sell advertising equipment but getting it online is in many ways a lot simpler, as with a click of the mouse and a credit card, you can compare prices, compare types and offers from different online retailers and easily find exactly what you are looking for.  As was mentioned above, some retailers will offer a lifetime warranty on the pop up display stands, which is definitely good to look for.  Others will offer free shipping, which is also something good to look into; if not, calculate how much the shipping will cost when comparing prices.

If you already have pop up display stand from last year, then you may not need to be concerned about the purchase and shipping of new pop up stands for your display.  However, before deciding that you are ok without buying new pop up stands, you will want to pull out the pop up stands and pop up trade show displays you may have used a year or two ago and have a close look at them.  Are they the right advertisement that you will want to use this year?  Do they reflect your product accurately?  Sometimes what was perfect for last year is not quite what is needed for this year.  Is it the right size, or too large or too small?  Have a close look and make sure that what you are planning to use, whether you are buying it new or it is something that you have used before, will be the very best advertisements for your company or product.  After all, if you are going to all the work, trouble and expense of attending a trade fair, you will want your booth to stand out in a positive way, attract your target audience and leave people with a positive impression of your product.  It is worth your while to carefully consider trade show pop up displays carefully to make sure you get something that is just right.

Moreover, after the trade show is over, make sure to store your pop up display system in a cool, dry place.  While a good quality pop up stand will last for a lifetime, it does need some care.  Humidity will ruin it quicker than just about anything else, so make sure that to keep it stored someplace where this will not be a problem.
